Every project runs through the same rigor, from load calculation to final bill of materials, so what gets built matches exactly what was engineered. No discipline is handled in isolation, each one feeds the next.
Room by room heat gain and loss modeling using R values, window U factors, solar orientation, duct location, infiltration rates, and occupancy, so equipment is never oversized or undersized. This is the foundation every other calculation in the project builds on, and it's ACCA compliant from the first pass.
Balanced air distribution engineered for exact static pressure and CFM at every register, sized off the Manual J loads room by room. Trunk and branch layout, friction rate, and equivalent length are all calculated, not eyeballed, eliminating hot/cold spots and cutting operating noise.
Thermal dynamics for retail, industrial and high occupancy spaces, accounting for internal gains from lighting and equipment, occupancy density, ASHRAE ventilation requirements, and envelope performance. Built for the scale and complexity commercial spaces actually demand.
Manufacturer performance data matched against your climate and Manual J loads at actual operating conditions, not just rated capacity. So the SEER and HSPF numbers on the spec sheet hold up once the unit is actually installed and running.
Audits of existing systems to find air leakage, duct losses, and thermal envelope gaps that are driving up utility bills or comfort complaints. Comes with a clear repair or replace ROI roadmap, so the next dollar spent actually fixes the problem.
A component level breakdown, down to the fitting, elbow, and length of duct, generated straight from the same engineering data that sized the system. Tied to our own tracking system, so the as built project matches the engineering exactly, with nothing added or missing.
Starting prices for our most common scopes, up to 2,000 sq ft on a single system. Every package includes 1 revision. Beyond 2,000 sq ft, add $0.040 per additional sq ft. For anything larger or multi system, send your plans and we'll come back with a fixed quote.
+$0.040 per sq ft beyond 2,000 sq ft · 1 revision included on every package
Manual S and Manual D are never sold standalone. Both require a Manual J, which we perform as part of the package.
A full time in house designer costs you a salary every single week, whether you land five projects that month or none. Benefits, payroll taxes, a desk, software licenses, training time, all of it running whether there's work on the table or not. Partner with AG3 instead, and you only pay when you actually have a project to send us.
Think of it as flipping a fixed cost into a variable one. Slow month? You pay for zero projects. Busy season with five jobs stacked up? We scale with you, without you having to hire, train, or manage anyone.
Maintain the minimum to keep your discount and priority status active.
Become a Partner ContractorEvery HVAC design firm talks about precision. Most of them still hand off a PDF and call it a day, leaving you to figure out materials, quantities, and cost on your own, usually by eyeballing the plans or building a spreadsheet from scratch. We built something different.
The AG3 Estimating Platform pulls data directly from Wrightsoft® the moment a design is finished. No manual re-entry, no transcribing numbers from a report, no separate takeoff process bolted on after the engineering is done. The same load calculations and duct design that size your system also generate your materials list, automatically, in the same pass.
The result is a complete bill of materials, itemized down to the last fitting, elbow, and length of duct. Not a rough quantity estimate. Not an "add 10% for waste" guess. The exact components the design calls for, because it's pulled straight from the design itself.
Want installation and material costs calculated too? That part's on you to unlock, and it's simple: send us your supplier price list. Every contractor negotiates different pricing with their suppliers, so a generic industry average cost estimate is basically useless to you. Instead, we run your exact BOM against your actual pricing and hand back a project cost that reflects what you really pay, not what some national average says you should.
This isn't a template, a plugin, or software every HVAC shop in the country can license. It's ours. We built it in house, we maintain it, and it runs quietly behind every single project we touch, whether you ever see it working or not. As far as we know, no other design firm in this space has anything like it.
Licensed Home Inspector with a Master's in Structural and Earthquake Engineering and 18+ years identifying risk and ensuring code compliance. Trilingual, English/French/Spanish.
17+ years across HVAC, ventilation and fire protection. Runs every project through Manual J, S and D against Energy Star and ASHRAE standards.
Behind every calculation is a family. AG3 was built at our kitchen table before it was ever built on a jobsite, and that's still the foundation everything else stands on, with over 35 years of combined engineering experience layered on top of it.
As parents ourselves, we know a building is more than a structure. It's an investment, a dream, a place people trust us with. That's the standard we hold every project to, residential, commercial or industrial.

Manual J is the ACCA standard method for calculating a home's exact heating and cooling load, room by room. Without it, HVAC equipment is typically sized by rule of thumb, which leads to systems that are too big, causing short cycling and poor humidity control, or too small, meaning they never keep up on extreme days.
Manual S matches equipment to your Manual J loads, and Manual D designs the ductwork to deliver that air correctly. All three work together, since an oversized unit on undersized ducts performs poorly no matter how good the equipment is.
Send what you have, such as property address, floor plans, window and insulation specs if available. We'll follow up on anything missing before we begin.
Every package includes 1 revision, covering the plan changes that typically come up during permitting or construction.
